AFRICAN SKIES
Dudù Kouaté (vocals, percussion)
Enzo Favata (soprano sax, bass clarinet)
Pasquale Mirra (vibraphone, midi marimba)
Paolo Corda (guitar and electric bass)
Alessandro Cau (drums and live electronics)
It is the voice of Dudù Kouaté, Senegalese narrator and percussionist, famous all over the world for his recent collaboration with the Art Ensemble of Chicago, to lead the voice of Mama Africa, in an Original Production of Musica sulle Bocche Festival.
His wonderful percussions will be accompanied by the polyrhythm of the marimbas and vibraphones of Pasquale Mirra and two young talents of the new jazz generation of Sardinia: Paolo Corda, multi-instrumental guitarist with an original harmonic invention and Alessandro Cau, drummer already internationally renowned. Finally Enzo Favata on saxophones and electronics.
This ensemble will take us under the “Skies of Africa“, where the Griots, guardians of the word, tell the Story of this ancient land.
At a time when the issue of migrations across the Mediterranean is the subject of controversial opinions, it is more essential than ever that the dialogue between different peoples, cultures and generations continues.
