The rural sanctuary of Buoncammino, not far from the residential area of Santa Teresa Gallura is immersed in the shadow of the secular olive trees, the adequate scenario to host folk music performances from all over the world. Musica sulle Bocche Festival has always been committed to spread Sardinian musical heritage to its audience. The tradition of the Canto a Cuncordu, a four-voice male voice polyphonic choir, with almost exclusively religious repertoire, is characteristic of many villages of Sardinia, especially during the Holy Week rites. Among the most famous choirs are the ones from Castelsardo, Santulussurgiu, Cuglieri and Orosei.
Coro a Cuncordu from Castelsardo represents the state of the art of a tradition that comes directly from 1500. Castelsardo lives in symbiosis with the four-voice polyphonic singing tradition of the Holy Week. A unique mystic experience, a musical gem of the curator and director of the choir, Giovanni Pinna, that dedicate his career traveling around the world to preserve the intangible heritage of Sardinian music.
