After sharing together many years of both music and life the two musicians refined a unique harmony that immediately shines through their live performance. Their repertoire is entirely dedicated to the figure of the great composer and double bass player Charles Mingus. The search through the countless colors of his music expressed by an unusual duet remains kindred to the author’s writing.
Salvatore Maiore is a Sardinian double bass player that carries multiple concerts and recording collaborations with Italian and foreign artists. Not only he took part to more than 50 music publishing but he also played in many of the major international jazz festivals. Maiore is also a jazz double bass teacher at the Conservatory of Vicenza. Among his most important collaborations we can mention the one with Stefano Battaglia’s trio, with whom he published four recording works, for ECM record label.
After obtaining her violin diploma Maria Vicentini refined her skills with masters like P. Bogdanovich and E. Porta that brought her since the beginning to develop her interest towards non-academic music and the improvisation practice. Since then she collaborates to various projects of different music genres that range from jazz to klezmer music. She took part both as violinist and violist at several RAI radio programs, international world music festivals and tour all around Europe, United States and Australia.
